Accessories at Paris Fashion Week: Go Bold or Go Home

In Runways, What's New, Industry News by Lauren Parker, Accessories Magazine

Accessories made bold statements at Paris Fashion Week, from bold collars to puffed scarves. While there are too many to show them all, we omitted the more crazy and showed the ones that are more wearable, or at least directional. A look:

Junya Watanabe fitted bold leather collars around models’ hair.

The puffy scarf is emerging as a strong trend. Manish Arora put an Asian spin on it.

As silver continues to increase in popularity, Altuzarra showed it in bold branch earrings.

Lanvin added an easy-access phone case to its ombre handbag.

80s-style sharp shoulders are back in vogue, and Saint Laurent made us hope someone markets these as detachable accessories.

Miu Miu’s fringed cold weather collars stole the show.

Maison Margiela put a new spin on the ear cuff, essentially cutting out an ear-shaped space from a silver rectangle.

Balmain tapped into the neon craze with clear neon boots.

Jacquemus puts new meaning to the shoulder duster earring.

While covering the models in almost head-to-toe scarves, Marine Serre wrapped round bags in scarves too.

Earrings (often singular) that looked like necklace chains wrapped around the ear were prevalent. Here, by Lemaire.

Hazmat suit or rain hat? We can’t tell either, but Maison Margiela’s clear topper is cool nonetheless!

Of course, beauty was often the boldest statement. Dries Van Noten accessorized models with orange, blue and yellow lashes, all topped with a single colored feather at the hairline.
