New York—The YMA Fashion Scholarship fund held its annual intern social on June 19t at the new offices of Fishman & Tobin in the Empire State Building.
The fund has placed more than 75 students into internship positions in New York and other cities this year. The intern social is an opportunity for interns to network with each other as well as members of the YMA FSF Board and staff.
The highlight of this year’s event was a talk by Michael Gould, recently retired chief executive of Bloomingdale’s, who gave students his view about makes a successful leader, and the most important qualities to have in a working relationship.
The YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund crosses all segments of the apparel business and is dedicated to bring smart and motivated young people into the fashion industry. The intern social is one of many events throughout the year, including the very successful Breakfast with the Boss series and the Annual dinner in January.
