Opening this weekend, Maleficent is expected to pull in $63 million, according to Indiewire’s Box Office Insider.
The big budget “Sleeping Beauty” reboot has generated lots of buzz, both for its captivating dark fashion visuals and the casting (yet, that’s Angelina and Brad’s daughter Vivienna Jolie-Pitt as the young princess Aurora!)
HSN has already released a broad array of licensed Maleficent merchandise, from embellished jewelry with crystalized feathers to silky apparel with dark flowers.
The movie is definitely dark–think black, iridescent feathers, skulls, leather-wrapped horns! There is also a lightness, with fairies and glowing goodness.
The movie also ties into the deep sparkle coming for Holiday 14, as shown on many runways.
