Will plans to present its full array of merchandise in a 2,000-square-foot “World Store” slated to open April 15 at 29 Prince St. (at Mott) in Manhattan’s Nolita neighborhood.
The design of the World Store will follow the precedent set by Will Leather Goods’ two previous shops, a flagship on Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice Beach, Calif., and a “Homestead” store in Portland’s Union Way. Will Adler, the brand’s founder, is behind the store’s concept and has worked with his daughter, Shane Adler, who heads retail expansion for the brand. They have tapped Wrk Design, known for The Brass Monkey, to bring Adler’s vision to life.
“Opening a store in New York City marks the biggest milestone for the brand yet,” said Will Adler. “My personal journey in leather craft began over three decades ago. After years of work and dedication, I am pleased to be bringing Will to the heart of downtown Manhattan.”
The World Store will be outfitted in reclaimed Douglas Fir Heartwood from the oldest lumber family in Oregon. Vintage and custom Oregon-designed fixtures will be used for displays, and in the same vein as the other Will shops, “haberdashery, furniture and other eclectic pieces collected during Will’s travels will be displayed and available for purchase.”
The shop’s complimentary full-service expresso bar will feature Oregon coffee roast.
