New York—This time of year, the retail flagships that line upper Fifth Avenue are resplendent and glittery with holiday decorations. But one of these retail heavyweights this week found most of the holiday sparkle indoors.
That was at the corner of Fifth and 57th Street where Van Cleef & Arpels staged a grand re-opening to its new tri-level townhouse.
On hand were actress Blake Lively, burlesque “choreographer” Dita Von Teese, Nicolas Bos, Van Cleef & Arpels’ global ceo/creative director, Alain Bernard, president/ceo of the Americas, choreographer Justin Peck, Jennifer Creel, Julie Macklowe, Genevieve Jones, designers Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku to name a few.
Besides touring the redesigned space and exhibition of jewels from around the world, a new VIP room, library and first-ever “Alfred and Estelle” bridal salon, guests were treated to a surprise live ballet curated by Benjamin Millepied and choreographed by Justin Peck.
Former “Gossip Girl” Lively, resplendent in Van Cleef & Aprels jewels, shot several selfies with other guests. In honor of the event, Lively, who was loaned her first Van Cleef piece at age 21, wore the same bracelet to the event.
