New York—Snapette, a business unit of PriceGrabber, the first location-based fashion shopping application, announces a major update to its app for iPhone, iPod touch and Android which enables users to purchase products directly on its mobile app and have items shipped to them anywhere, globally.
Originally launched in 2011, Snapette’s focus was on helping shoppers find fashion products and sales from nearby stores, and enabling users to discover and get directions to local shopping finds. In the latest update, the Snapette app made the transition to a fully-featured commerce platform, allowing users to not only browse and discover the best products trending globally, but also purchase these items directly through the app.
“Snapette was first launched as a way for consumers to discover nearby fashion finds and drive them into local stores,” says Jeff Goldstein, president of PriceGrabber, which acquired Snapette earlier this year. “With the addition of in-app purchase, we are now enabling users to be able to purchase products from many of our retailer partners, making product discovery truly actionable.”
With an easy-to-use interface and international shipping, Snapette will now allow users to seamlessly make purchases directly from the Snapette mobile app. Snapette is integrated with Braintree, FedEx, and DHL to enable its users to securely check out through the app and have products delivered to them anywhere around the world.
Snapette has 1.7 million users and has partnered directly with over 230 top brands and retailers to provide shoppers easy mobile access to information on nearby fashion products, stores and sales. Snapette was recently acquired by leading ecommerce site PriceGrabber to further strengthen its growing presence in mobile ecommerce and expand the PriceGrabber platform to more effectively reach fashion shoppers.
