New York—Shopping the premium women’s wear market is about to become a whole lot easier, more focused and targeted with Edit, an invitation-only New York-based event scheduled to premiere in February 2014 at the Javits Center.
Presented by the multi-media Business Journals Fashion Group, owners of Accessories magazine and AccessoriesTheShow, Edit combines sophisticated amenities with a clearly edited presentation of emerging trends and directional product, to create a market experience that far surpasses the status quo. Services will include concierge assistance, look books and an impeccably staged show floor, rich with amenities−catering to contemporary and luxury retailers placing “high value on service, trend resources and fresh perspectives.”
Targeted to select department stores and vetted specialty stores, Edit will open only to merchants by invitation and approval only. Retailers are being recruited through a targeted, multi-channel marketing campaign including content rich trend e-mails, delivered look books and personal phone calls from Edit’s own retail development team. An onsite concierge will review last minute applications from retailers at the show, too.
Show Director Alexandra d’Archangelo and Branding/Merchandising Manager Jennifer Park are the driving forces behind Edit. Since first meeting at Canada’s leading fashion school, Ryerson University, they have acquired collective experience as: buyers, designers, fashion show producers, trade show organizers, bloggers, marketers, merchandisers and retailers across Canada, the United States and France.
