Hoffman Estates, IL—Things got a little spooky—and a lot of fun—last Thursday at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, ALSAC/Danny Thomas Pavilion thanks to the joint efforts of Claire’s Stores and Disney.
First, patients and their families got treated to some Halloween decorating: bedazzling trick or treat bags and assembling Halloween costumes using an assortment of accessories.
Later in the day, patient families who often aren’t able to enjoy movie nights at the theaters due to immune deficiencies, had a very special screening of Disney’s “Frankenweenie,” a stop-motion animated film directed by Tim Burton. Actor, Charlie Tahan, who voiced the role of “Victor,” the main character in the film, was in attendance to help get the kids in the Halloween spirit.
“Frankenweenie” was filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D. The talented voice cast includes: Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short, Martin Landau, Charlie Tahan, Atticus Shaffer, Robert Capron, Conchata Ferrell and Winona Ryder.
