Some are calling it “the Swiss Army knife of handbags.” Which seems appropriate enough considering since the designer, Claudia Eicke, is Swiss, and her handbag and leathergoods company, Envoyage, is based in Zurich.
But its her ability to combine function and form in her handbags that shows real resourcefulness. After tossing out nearly a dozen prototypes in the process, Eicke came up with this French goat leather weekender—or more accurately, all day-er.
“The bag needed to hold all the items a woman needed for the whole day,” the designer says. That means a tunnel-like compartment where the user could fit her yoga mat, or a bottle of champagne.
“We have had very good reactions to the bag. People like the tunnel idea and they bring their own ideas for how to use it, too,” Eicke says.
Don’t know about you but after a long, hot summer Monday afternoon, we could use a nip of bubbly about now, too.
