New York—Following industry feedback from the recently released 2011 accessories market dates, Fashion Accessories Shippers Association (FASA) has revised next year’s calendar, returning to the traditional schedule of five New York market weeks in January, March, May, August and November.
The revised 2011 New York market dates are as follows:
January 10 to 14
March 7 to11
May 2 to 6
August 1 to 5
November 7 to 11
Previously, the 2011 schedule has included a February Market week instead of the traditional one in March. Since many department stores have started coming into New York for market in early February, the schedule had shifted the March market up a couple of weeks in an effort to maintain the five markets a year.

“But it became clear that an early February market wouldn’t accommodate all accessories classifications or retail channels, so we decided to return to the traditional schedule with March dates,” said Sara Mayes, president of FASA.
“While not an ‘official’ market week, January 31 to February 4 is an important week for department stores who will be shopping their key vendors in preparation for July 28 deliveries,” Mayes added.
