New York–Ke$ha, the singer behind hits like “Tik Tok” and “Your Love is my Drug,” will be adding item to her resume: watch designer. As the latest brand ambassador for Casio America and its Baby-G watch line, Ke$ha announced at the “Shock the World” event August 2 that she will be creating two “totally rad” watch styles for Baby-G, premiering Summer 2011.
Ke$ha, who performed live to 500 people at the Shock the Word event on August 2, says that Baby-G is a perfect match for her: “I think the Baby-G brand is amazing, it’s stylish, innovative, durable and affordable. The bright colors and metallic finishes really compliment my moods and personality.” Vice President of Casio’s Timepiece Division, Shigenori Itoh, vice president at Casio’s timepiece division, agrees, “ We are very excited to have the colorful and creative Ke$ha as a collaborator for the Casio Baby-G brand, as soon as we heard her hit single, ‘Tik Tok’, we knew we had to have Ke$ha as a Casio Brand Ambassador. It was a natural fit.”
Baby-G is the women’s counterpart to Casio’s highly successful G-Shock brand. Ke$sha will appear in Baby-G advertising this year as well.
In addition naming Ke$ha as brand ambassador, Casio America also named actor Bryan Greenberg, star of HBO’s “How to Make It In America,” and Formula One racecar driver Sebastian Vettel as brand ambassadors for the new Casio luxury men’s watch line, EDFICE Black Label.
