Every year, millions of avid sport fans gather to watch the FIFA World Cup live, on TV or the Internet, cheering relentlessly for their favorite team to take the championship. This year’s World Cup, which begins June 11 and lasts through July 11, takes place in South Africa, where 32 different countries compete in a “football” (that’s soccer to us Americans) tournament. Thanks to ToyWatch, Happy Socks, Havaianas, and Try Change by Allison, fans can now take their dedication beyond team jersies: displaying their support for teams through a wide array of flag-oriented accessories.
Be on time for the match (or at least the after party) with this team-themed watch. ToyWatch has created a line of nine different watches (retailing for $195), each with a different country’s flag displayed on the timepiece’s face.
For those fans that would prefer to show support for their favorite teams through footwear, Happy Socks and Havaianas have endless options. Happy Socks, in collaboration with Wong Wong, has produced a line of socks with eight different country’s flags as the patterns. The socks, which retail for $14, are a perfect way for fans to be kept on their toes. Brazil-based Havaianas, which is known for its comfy rubber flip flops, has fashioned a line of limited-edition sandals for $24 (guess who they’re rooting for?) The flip flops will have 17 different country names and flags painted on the shoe’s sole.
The accessories industry wants all fans to partake in the World Cup excitement–even those who are vision-impaired. Try Change by Allison has constructed interchangeable eyeglass temples which resemble country’s flags for their chic glasses. So, for 40 euros (roughly $49), wearers can swap out their frame temples to keep up to date with the winning teams.
