New York–Patricia Field, famous for her “Sex and the City 1 & 2 costume design, had quite a week last week, beginning with the hot ticket premiere of Sex and the City 2, and following with her over-the-top swimwear and accessories fashion show Swim-sational Disco Soirée.
The show, which took place at 230 Fifth, New York’s Largest Rooftop Garden and Penthouse Lounge, featured Field’s new swimwear collection, Patricia Field/House of Field Eyewear, Swimwear, and Beach Towels. In typical Field fashion, the event had a twist, having models walk the show among highly styled mannequins. Possibly as a nod to the “urban jungle” many stories below, the show featured a cheetah and a zebra (not live, but with Field, you never know!). Palm trees, sheer flowing beach robes and harem pants also evoked Sex and the City 2’s exotic Middle Eastern locale.
To enhance Field’s glamorous swimsuits—featuring sequins, plunging necklines, studs and dramatic cutouts—models were accessorized in Ippolita gold jewelry, provided by World Gold Council. Field, discussing the collaboration, says, “Gorgeous! Glamourous! Sexy! That’s gold jewelry on a tanned body!”
