After two decades in the fashion accessories business, Cejon, a division of Steve Madden, remains a leader in its category, featuring scarves, wraps, ruanas, sunglasses, hats, slippers and coldweather merchandise in a number of brands.
After adding Steve Madden and Betsey Johnson slippers and flip flops, as well as Andrew Marc, Marc New York, Big Buddha and North Shore sunwear, Cejon continues to expand its reach into to new classifications, plus grow its existing ones. Cejon designs and manufactures fashion accessories and coldweather for Steve Madden, Betsey Johnson, Big Buddha, as well as Soaked line of swim coverups and Peace of Cake kids fashion accessories.
“We cover such a broad range of merchandise now,” says president David Seeherman, noting that infinity scarves and sunglasses are both really hot right now. “Another growth area is what we call ‘weather-friendly coldweather.’ This includes lighter-weight knits, and infinities that are suitable no matter what the forecast brings. The ruana business is fantastic as well, as women wear them as coats when the mercury doesn’t drop too much.”
And when it’s really warm, there’s always the growing beach category. “The coverup business has gotten extremely strong, especially dressy items and pareos.”
