Burbank, California—1928 Jewelry, which is known for its color, beads and feminine updated vintage styling, has inked a jewelry license with Laundry by Shelli Segal, a Los Angeles-based contemporary apparel brand that’s part of Perry Ellis International.

The fashion jewelry line will hit stores for Spring 2012.

Laundry by Shelli Segal has been recently adding accessories categories to its label, having rolled out fashion accessories and coldweather recently under license with Nolan Glove Company. A fragrance launch is also under way.

The match is a good one. 1928 is best known for its beadwork and color, and Laundry by Shelli Segal is best known for her pretty prints and beadwork often seen as neckline embellishment. “The better reason to wear an amazing cocktail ring or bold pair of earrings!” says Janice Grimes, Director of Private Brands and Business Development for 1928 Jewelry Company, Inc. “The Laundry by Shelli Segal customer is ready to accessorize!”

Of course, necklaces will also figure in prominently in the jewelry launch, capturing that same embellished neckline aesthetic.

“The Laundry brand offers 1928 the opportunity to enter the contemporary market with innovative product design and the quality expected from 1928,” says Mel Bernie, President & Chief Operating Officer of 1928 Jewelry Company.

The jewelry will range in retail in suggested retail price from $30 to $140.
