THE NEWS IS OUT – I MADE JEWELRY! I’m an BEYOND excited to announce the launch of #LuluDKxWeWoreWhat for @nordstrom! I’ve been working for months to create this under $100 gold jewelry collection for you guys! Finding fine-looking pieces at an affordable price point has been one of my common requests and I’m so proud of how things turned out! @luludk_lifestyle and I made the collection to be mixed and matched and layered – this is just a small sampling of the 27 piece collection launching May 9th with a #Nordstrom pop-up shop just for this! Two amazing women–jewelry designer Lulu de Kwiatkowski of Lulu DK and über fashion influencer and blogger Danielle Bernstein of We Wore What–have teamed up to show that a whole can be even greater than the sum of its parts. The resulting Lulu DK x We Wore What jewelry capsule launches May 9th as an exclusive with Nordstrom, capturing the essence of each of its collaborators.
ACCESSORIES caught up with Bernstein for some further insights, not to mention a sneak peek at the jewelry:
Have you done jewelry collaborations before?
I’ve done a few jewelry collaborations on a much smaller scale, but to really create my own has always been a dream. One of the most common requests from my followers is where to find jewelry at an affordable price point so I knew this was the perfect opportunity to do that for them.
What was it in Lulu DK that resonated with you?
When the Lulu DK team reached out to me I knew it was going to be a dream collaboration. Our aesthetics aligned perfectly. They were able to help me design expensive looking jewelry that’s very attainable.
Is there one signature or favorite piece in the collection?
I love all of the earrings and rings to mix with everyday jewels, but the most special piece is the Poppy Locket. I found a locket at a flea market last year and I started wearing it with my Poppy’s photo inside every day. When the Lulu DK collaboration first came about, I knew that the Poppy Locket was something I definitely wanted to recreate for my fans to be able to be close to their loved ones every day.
What was the collaboration process like?
I pulled inspiration from jewelry I already owned and loved, and sketched and made edits based off of that. I also worked directly with Lulu to design new pieces and we went through multiple edits until we got the perfect versions of each.
Is there a big crossover with your followers and Lulu DK’s jewelry wearers? Or are you both getting new exposure?
Not sure, but I would assume that we would both be getting new exposure since we haven’t worked together before!
