Louis Vuitton was a study in contradiction, with athleisure materials walking the runway side-by-side regal overcoats, tapestry vests and billowy blouses. The accessories, however, were unquestionably sport. Dad-like running shoes were paired with structured neoprene backpacks and duffel bags ready for a workout.
Footwear at Miu Miu’s Spring presentation took quite the departure from its signature ballet flat. Models instead wore heavier silhouettes like Birkenstock-esque sandals and pointy-toe oxfords. Sporty clutches and statement broaches highlighted the accessories, along with a new take on the wicker bag featuring colorful basket totes woven from unexpected materials.
It’s hard to notice the accessories on top of all the slicked hair, but jewelry was on full display at Alexander McQueen. Piles of gems, charmed chain necklaces and mismatched earrings were a sharp contrast from the dainty accents that have presided this season. Belts and harnesses also served as an instant waist cincher atop corset-like silhouettes.
