When Beyonce sang, “If you like it, then you shoulda put a ring on it,” the world over assumed she meant a big, showstopping diamond stunner. And while that certainly has its place and appeal, the Bowie N°1 Horn Diamond Ring from Pascale Monvoisin makes the case for understated elegance in the form of smaller, demure diamonds encrusted on black bakelite and bezeled in gold.

The Bowie N°1 is part of the three-part Bowie ring series, featuring a longer shape (Bowie N°3) and rounded-square variations (Bowie N°2). While the three look fabulous together, each can be worn separately while still packing a sartorial punch.

The ring is also available in other materials and stones, but we’re sticking with the diamond iteration, thankyouverymuch. There are plenty of other Pascale Monvoisin ring styles, along with bracelets, necklaces and earrings bearing the brand’s signature eclectic aesthetic.

✨Happy 2017 ✨I love you, Pascale

While you may not recognize the name, you’re no doubt already familiar with the brand’s eclectic style, with French It-Girls like Jeanne Damas and Inès de la Fressange helping to put Pascale Monvoisin on the fashion map. The line was founded and created by Pascale herself, who as a true artist, painted, sculpted and created all sorts of design-driven objects before coming across her love and talent for designing jewelry. Today, Pascale is still involved in every aspect of the design process, from creating color stories to personally handpicking the materials and gemstones.

The Bowie N°1 Horn Diamond Ring retails for about $785 at pascalemonvoisin.com.
