Abandoning their home city of New York, Kate and Laura Mulleavy have decided to show their Fall / Winter 2017 Collection in Paris. Although we were sad to see them go, its only a sign that these two have big things to come. Their latest collection was a superstar blend of whimsical and romance toughened up with a rock star edge. The
accessories were not to be missed with oversize ruffle-trim gloves to the thick, studded over-sized hip-fitting belts to royal like crimson and purple ornate jewelry, hair accessories and crowns.
Lanvin, a fashion house known for its masculine-feminine looks, went for a much more girlier appeal for Fall/Winter 2017. Could it be a part of today’s feminist movement we’ve seen in our political environment, or just the new creative director taking the brand in a new direction? Pink ballerina dresses, feminine flowers, ruffles and silk and chiffon pieces were complemented with an abundance of accessories from layered mini handbags, wrap around belts, clusters of brooches and statement chokers, all embellished with delicate white and black feathers, decadent silver and crystal feather pendants and charms as well as large bird motifs.
