When it comes to golden headpieces, we’ve been fixated on Netflix’s series “The Crown.” Turns out, we’ve been watching the wrong queen!
Beyoncé, aka Queen Bey, aka The Supreme Royal, rocked the Grammys stage last night with a quasi-religious performance that celebrated pregnancy, motherhood, femininity, power and spirituality all at the same time. Her golden fashions and accessories evoked an ancient Egyptian Queen but not without modern resonances. The crown was naturally a fashion highlight.
The headpiece and chain jewelry were created by edgy jewelry company (think chain face pieces) House of Malakai, which has worked with Beyoncé before.
Both her outfits were created by Norwegian-born designer Peter Dundas (now creative director of Roberto Cavalli). Jewelry designer Ariana Boussard-Reifel created the power cuffs Beyoncé wore on each wrist both during her performance and also her acceptance speech. Wonder Woman, indeed!
Gold and metallics have already surged in everything from fashion to accessories to beauty, and this should continue the momentum. For a closer look at the outfits, accessories, makeup and performance, go to Beyonce.com
