LANVIN

Lanvin

Lanvin’s show for S/S 2017 marks the official debut of Bouchra Jarrar as the brand’s womenswear artistic director. A quick glance into her designs immediately gives the impression of relaxed glamour, with light dresses and loose separates essentially taking over the runway. Jarrar used a mix of solid colors and prints, with a healthy dose of marabou, dark florals and some metallic accents. Accessories include shimmery thin scarves, floral brooches, necklaces with gilded 3D flowers and amorphous leather bucket bags with slip-on straps, among others.

MAISON MARGIELA

Maison Margiela

John Galliano’s direction for S/S 2017 had a playfully impish appeal, bordering on futuristic supernatural dressing. Deconstructed styling here means pairing up pastels, metallic sheen, prints and neutrals into jam-packed ensembles, with accents like 3D vines, mixed media gloves and wide belts that are looped and tied around the waist. Shoes include chunky platforms and statement sandals and boots, while handbag selections are mostly big, structured leather handbags that can be functional if you’re carrying a lot of items at once.

PAULE KA

Paule Ka

Alithia Spuri-Zampetti’s collection for Paule Ka takes some cue from Japanese culture, although the translation wasn’t literal. Obi belts gave a wraparound twist to some casual dresses, and a few Asian-style floral prints were seen as well. In terms of styling, the single earring trend was used, with fluttery tassel earrings as a key accessory. Handbags and shoes had some variety, too. Multicolored fringed purses had a matchy-matchy effect with some printed outfits, while other bag selections were adorned with fabric petals. For footwear, take your pick from animal print leather pumps or strappy sandals with some marabou detailing.
