Today may mark the beginning of the Year of the Monkey (Lunar New Year) but for Julie Lamb New York it’s always going to be the Year of the Sheep (Goat).
“Playing off of ‘The Black Sheep’ in black diamonds, the little lamb is transformed to the dark side and speaks to all of us who prefer to live just outside the lines,” says designer Lamb. “The dynamic between the Black Sheep and White speaks directly to our core personalities. Are you mainstream, in white? If you are you can still ‘Stand Out’ from the herd by highlighting the attributes, talents and special features you choose to define you. Are you the black sheep? You don’t care what the crowd is doing, you march to your own beat, you live outside the box. Be encouraged to ‘Be Ewe’ & ‘Be Herd’!”
Her jewelry brand is all about fun, with cute necklaces that have sheep pendants, using materials like sterling silver with diamond accents.
This necklace, for example, has a bezel set diamond on a 16.5- 17.5” bead chain with lobster clasp. Despite its minimalist appeal, the chubby lamb pendant–made of sterling silver with black rhodium plate–lends a touch of cuteness.
It sure is anything but “meeeh.”
