Manhattan Beach, CA–Fila USA has become the second recipient of a lawsuit from footwear business Skechers over infringement of its Go Walk shoe line.
The performance footwear firm has filed the suit against Fila USA Inc. for selling footwear that it says infringes on the Go Walk product line.
Skechers is seeking compensatory and punitive damages as well as injunctive relief for “infringing on its patent and trade dress rights and for unfair competition an dilution” The suit states that Fila is selling the infringing products under the name Fila Amazen Memory Moc.
COO David Weinberg said: “Our investment in Skechers Go Walk requires us to respond to any kind of competitor attempting to gain an unfair advantage over Skechers and our retail partners by infringing on one of our most valuable intellectual properties. We will continue to enforce our intellectual property rights against any company that develops footwear that infringes on the patents and trade dress of Skechers Go Walk as well as our other proprietary product lines.”
This is the second lawsuit Skechers has filed over infringement of its Go Walk footwear. Last month the company filed a suit against Reebok for its Walk Ahead RS line.
