See Queen Margot Movie for More Royal Style Inspirations

Queen Margot Queens have been quite in vogue lately–both good and evil–on TV and on the silver screen.

The French/Italian film Queen Margot (which actually made its debut in 1994 but is playing now at New York’s Film Forum) prompted this review for yet another look at royal style.

Queen Margot is set in 1572 France, where Marguerite de Valois (played by the lovely Isabelle Adjani) gets married off to King Henri of Navarre for all sorts of political purposes.

Chaos and murder plots ensue, as does a forbidden love affair.

If the bloody sword fights get too Game of Thrones, just turn your attention to the cache of jewels, crowns and robes make of sumptuous tapestry and velvet. You won’t be sorry.
