Ever feel like you have entered unchartered territory—both figuratively and literally? We’ve all been there.
Staying on course is something that’s been on the mind of designer Charlotte Guptill of Chart Metalworks. Those spots on a map that recall special memories lives on her jewelry collection. The key source of inspiration is nautical charts and maps which are covered in resin and set into sterling silver, creating an heirloom.
Guptill tends to favor New England (her studio is in Portland, Maine) but wearers can select a city, state or address of their choice so a map of it can be used in the piece. And for even more customization, the reverse side can be engraved with a special message.
So much more glamorous than a screen shot from Google Maps, don’t you think?
