Commerce, CA and New York—Marika, the shape-enhancing activewear and yoga brand belonging to FAM Brands, continues to expand into licensed accessories. Following recent licenses in handbags, hosiery and footwear, Marika announced this week it had signed a signed a multi-year licensing agreement with Glance Eyewear for women’s sunglasses and reading glasses, as well as related eyewear accessories.
The first collection to be produced under the Marika label will debut to the market in August and begin shipping December for the Spring 2015 season.

We are certain that they will flourish with the Marika brand.”
The new collection will place emphasis on the Marika brand philosophy: function, performance and exciting design aesthetics. The retail price range will be $28 to $38 and the collection will consist of 18 to 24 styles in both active and lifestyle looks. Best selling frame shapes such as aviators, wraps, and updated classic styles will be the focus.
According to Glance Executive Vice President Alexander Wu, “We feel there is a void in the women’s sunglass market for a brand that provides both function and fashion. Marika sunglasses will provide great frame styles and marry them with superior lens technology that reduces direct, reflective and bounce-back glare. Glare causes squinting and affects the sensitive skin around the eye which is very susceptible to wrinkles and the negative effects of UV exposure. Our lens technology reduces this process by providing 100% UV protection and superior glare protection.”
