You can go home again. Just ask designer Carrie Forbes who launched herself into the accessories scene in 1989 with crochet handbags. She later moved it Italy to hone her skills, freelancing for the likes of Armani, Fendi, Etro and Ferragamo. That was until she made a trip to Morocco and was inspired to once again create her own collection.
Inspired by traditional Moroccan slides, Forbes created these hand-woven raffia shoes with padded leather soles for comfort and a detailed weave modeled after an indigenous design.
Forbes returned to Newport Beach, Calif., to once again launch a hand-woven collection in the United States.
Her winning combination of hand woven and comfort caught the eye of none-other-than Oprah who named the footwear the “hottest trend” in the March issue of O magazine.
