Knoxville, TN—Retailers are taking their customers to heart this month as part of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women this month to help fight heart disease.

Among the retailers participating this year is Jewelry Television, the shopping channel, with its “Love Your Heart” multimedia campaign created to raise awareness and educate viewers about the risks of heart disease, and raise funds to support the Go Red for Women movement.

‘Raise Awareness, Save Lives’

For the third year, JTV is taking a stand in the fight against heart disease by offering consumers an easy way to contribute to the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement. Through March 2, consumers may add a Go Red contribution to their purchase, or donate directly at JTV.com/GoRed. Those contributing $5 or more will receive a $10 promotional offer redeemable on a future purchase with JTV.

“Heart disease is the number one killer of women, killing more women than all forms of cancer combined,” explained Tim Matthews, chief executive of JTV. “Since the majority of our customers are women, we’ve made it our mission to help save lives.”

JTV, in fact, plans to donate 10% of the purchase price from its exclusive “Love Your Heart” jewelry and gift collection to the Go Red For Women movement.

Ten years ago, the American Heart Association discovered that heart disease killed more women than men. This discovery led to the creation of Go Red For Women, a network of women dedicated to education, support, and research.

In addition, JTV and its employees are contributing money, airtime, and other media resources in support of the Go Red For Women movement.

“Go Red and Speak Red by telling other women that heart disease is the number one killer,” said Matthews. “We want to raise awareness and save lives.”
