RocksBox is a subscription-based service where you pay a monthly fee, get three items (worth about $250) sent to you based on your provided style profile, try them out, then exchange them for something new.
It’s sort of the Netflix of jewelry, only here you get to play dress up! Plus, as RocksBox stylists curate each new selection, you never know what you’re getting until you open the box!
RocksBox features an eclectic mix of mid- to high-end designer labels that wearers might have deemed out of reach price wise, and the idea is to give women a taste of something aspirational, let them experience it for up to 60 days, exchange it for something new, or even purchase it at a discount if they want.
A former jewelry designer herself, co-founder and CEO Meaghan Rose saw a niche whereby small brands could find distribution and build brand awareness directly with consumers. Rose teamed up with technology expert Maia Bittner, RocksBox co-Founder and CTO, to create the company in the end of 2012.
RocksBox features more than 40 designers, including CC Skye, Gorjana, Ted Rossi, David Aubrey, and more. With over 5,000 pieces of jewelry, RocksBox stylists personally help curate each subsequent style box, selecting items based on member’s feedback.
Each box comes with return card, where members rate the items and offer comments when they send back the merchandise for exchange. The idea is to make each box “smarter” and better suited to the member’s tastes.
“We want every piece of jewelry that we sell to be an item that our customer really loves,” says Rose.
Members can enjoy their RocksBox for up to 60 days and upon return, will receive their next RocksBox with three new pieces and can exchange them for a new set as often as they wish.
“We designed RocksBox to give women an opportunity to experiment with different jewelry styles and try something out before she commits to buying it,” says Bittner.
