New York—As the clock ticks down to Christmas, retailers are employing many marketing gimmicks to entice shoppers into stores. These days, mobile and social media efforts have proved successful, inexpensive and effective.
Lord & Taylor started today a holiday promotion that combines current day social media along with some old fashion in-store treasure hunt.
Called the “12 Days of Gifting,” the promotion runs daily though Tuesday, Dec. 24. Each day a gift items will be chosen and placed within selected Lord & Taylor doors—the first 50 customers to find them get an early Christmas present. Each day the gifts change and vary by store.
Shoppers find out about the designated locations of the gifts by following Lord & Taylor’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and on “LT Insider” the retailer’s blog.
Participating stores include: New York City, Westchester, Garden City, Stamford, Westfield, Ridgewood, Manhasset, Chevy Chase, Bala, Ridge Hill, Boca Raton.
