New York—It’s an award that any emerging designer might covet, and even more exciting when you receive it in front of an A-list fashion crowd and celebrities such as Orlando Bloom, Matthew Broderick, Miguel, Ashley Olsen, and Julianne Moore.
Recipients of the 10th annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund awarded at a gala Monday night at the Spring Studios in TriBeCa, were Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne of Public School, a men’s tailored sportswear firm. Runners-up were Marc Alary of Marc Alary Jewelry and Juan Carlos Obando. Designer Tom Ford was the keynote speaker for the gala.
The winner and runners-up will each meet regularly with an assigned business mentor, based on their specific needs for business expertise and resources. Additionally, the winner and runners-up will receive cash prizes—$300,000 for the winner and $100,000 for each of the runners-up. The cash awards are designed to encourage and enable these emerging designers to pursue their design plans.
