Pickerington,OH—R.G. Barry has promoted Lee Smith to president of its footwear business division, replacing Nancy Coons.

Smith, who has served as senior vice president of strategic brand and channel services at R.G. Barry since last year, will start his new role today.

Coons joined R.G. Barry in July 2010 as the president of its Dearfoams brand, which makes footwear, slippers and sleepwear products.

Prior to that, she operated her own brand consulting business and managed apparel businesses at the executive level for firms such as New Balance Athletic Shoe and Nike.

R.G. Barry last month reported a 40.7% decline in its fourth quarter earnings to $281,000, offsetting a slight increase in total sales.
