Paris Fashion Week Breaking Trends Spring 2014: Midnight Metallics

Paris Fashion Week–Shiny fluid metallics are certainly nothing new, at least not since the disco era, but the always-influential Alber Elbaz of Lanvin has put a new spin on them. His show, which was dominated by metallic lamé in deep cosmic colors, felt sort of space-age disco. Rich pewters, bronzes and jewel tones glimmered in the dark, almost as if by distant starlight. Even accessories shone–with lots of lamé scarves, iridescent pendent stones and metallic grab-n-go “trash-bag” handbags (what were THOSE all about?). Large star jewelry added a whimsical, celestial twist.
