Fashion Week Breaking Trends Spring 2014: Ancient Odyssey

Milan Fashion Week–Dolce & Gabbana didn’t just take a trip to Sicily (again) for inspiration, they took a trip back in time. Ancient Roman columns, coins and even ancient ruins pop up as prints and embellishments. Branches of flowering almond trees put the scent of spring in the air, adding femininity to the masculine overtones (don’t those giant coin belts and breastplates make you think of gladiators in the Colosseum?).
