This Weekend, Party Like It’s 1923

2785480_height370_width518New York–If you watched “The Great Gatsby” with incredible envy, now’s your chance to live out your fantasies of attending a real Jazz Age Lawn Party–just a short ferry ride from lower Manhattan.

Held this Saturday and Sunday, Aug 17  and 18, his awesome Roaring Twenties party/picnic/dance festival on Governors Island offers something for everyone, from drinking Prohibition-era cocktails (hello St. Germain!) to strolling the grounds and checking out incredible era-appropriate vintage cars.

Jazz-Age-Lawn-Party-June-15-16-2013-Governors-Island-NYCMake sure to dress your 1920s best, street photographer Bill Cunningham is always out in force! And if you’re in short supply of 1920-style accessories, fear not. The area is peppered with vendors selling hats and other items.

How do you get to Governors Island you ask? Take the 1 train to the South Ferry stop, then hop the (free!) ferry across New York Harbor. Tickets to the event are $30 in advance (go to www.jazzagelawnparty.com). Door tickets are $35.

I’m at this event selling my http://www.tenderglovingcare.com ladies never worn vintage gloves from the 1930’s – 1970’s. I’m in the same booth at Dora Marra whom you always see at AccessoriesTheShow selling her hand made hair accessories and fascinators.
