Banana Republic Announces Latest Collab: L’Wren Scott

BRLWren_Look1New York- Luxury brand and red carpet favorite L’Wren Scott will be the next designer to collaborate with global fashion retailer Banana Republic. Scott, who is the founder and designer of her namesake label is known for her modern and high-quality classics adored by celebs like Sarah Jessica Parker and Nicole Kidman.

This is hardly Banana Republic’s first fashion collaboration. The retailer has done numerous Mad Men capsules, as well as recent collaborations with Milly and Issa London, among others.

In teaming up with L’Wren Scott, Banana Republic was attracted to the brand’s aesthetic.

“L’Wren really understands what a woman loves and wants to wear. Her knack for bringing imaginative versatility and femininity to classic design is something that immediately brought us together as creatives,” says Banana Republic Creative Director and Executive Vice President of Design, Simon Kneen. “We share an appreciation for genuine luxury, beautiful fabrics and unexpected details. The designs created for this collection bring a modern approach to pieces you will love forever.”

The collection is comprised of more than 50 pieces and will include both apparel as well as accessories. Designed to go from day to night, sequined party dresses, bejeweled cardigans, lace dresses and pencil skirts are just some of the styles that will be featured. A clutch with a sparkly chain that can be removed to double as a statement necklace or bracelet will no doubt be an accessory standout.BRLWren_LipBag

Three original prints were also created exclusively for the collection. The bold and whimsical lip print on the handbag above  is just one motif that will appear on both apparel and accessories.

“A partnership of this scale was a first for me, and I was very excited to find a true partner in Simon,” says Scott. “Through this collection, we were able to bring our shared vision to life and the end result is a capsule we’re both so proud to call our own. It beautifully combines the ultra-feminine with wearable polish and will bring a sexy confidence to our consumers.”

Prices range from $39.50 to $165 for apparel and $39.50 to $198 for accessories. The capsule will launch both online and in select Banana Republic retail locations worldwide on December 5, 2013.
