Gatsby Costume Designer Discusses Film’s Relationship with Fogal Hosiery

Fogal-The-Great-GatsbyZurich–Another day, another Great Gatsby post!

As we impatiently count down to the movie’s May 10 premiere, let’s look at legwear. With so much attention paid to the jewelry, hats and other accessories of the Jazz Age era, one shouldn’t forget what an important part hosiery played.

With women wearing short dresses for the first time, legs—and how they were adorned—had lots to say about the wearer.

Watch this exclusive behind-the-scenes video (below) to hear Gatsby costume designer Catherine Martin discussing the film’s intimate relationship with Fogal, and how she used hosiery to help define each character.

With all those sexy lace-trimmed thigh-high garter-length stockings, this film might make you put away your jeans forever.
