Tribeca Film Festival Bag

Manhattan Portage BagsNew York–Some things are just iconic NYC: from messengers whizzing through traffic on their bikes to the cultural Tribeca Film Festival.

Now, the two have merged as Manhattan Portage–with its signature red and white logo of the Manhattan skyline–celebrates its 30th anniversary as the official bag sponsor of the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival.

The film festival might not make the same durability demands of, say, weaving among hundreds of taxis on your bike, it’s still nice to know that the company was the first to use 1000 Denier CORDURA nylon for single-strap messenger bags, a fabric originally developed for the U.S. military. They also replaced metal zippers with plastic ones and replaced weighty industrial closures with plastic clasps.

All bags are triple-stitched to ensure durability on key stress areas. And with all the swag given out at festivals these days, you might just need that extra reinforcement.
