Paris and New York—The House of Christian Lacroix and the accessories specialist Accessories Headquarters (AHQ) announced last week their new five-year license agreement for the development, manufacturing and distribution of women’s and men’s accessories, including handbags, small leathergoods and travel accessories in North America.
The collection will be sold across various distribution channels, including department stores, specialty stores, and e-commerce.
AHQ and Christian Lacroix will be doing a limited launch for May market to ship for Holiday 2013 with a full presentation will be offered in August Market for Spring 2014.
This is a new step in the continued development of the House of Christian Lacroix. “We are very much looking forward to expanding our activity in North America with this new partnership and are very confident that the expertise of AHQ Inc in the handbags category will enable us to build a successful business,” said Nicolas Topiol, chief executive of Christian Lacroix.
Abe Chehebar, AHQ’s chief executive, added: “We are proud to have been chosen as the exclusive licensee for Christian Lacroix Handbags in the U.S. market. This world renowned, iconic designer brand fits very well within our other respected brands such as Kooba and Hayden Harnett.”
According to Chehebar, there will be two segments to the brand in the United States. First, Christian Lacroix Paris, which will consist of leather handbags, retails $300 to $900; and secondly, CXL by Christian Lacroix, which will be an extensive line of handbags using man-made materials, retails between $75 and $300.
