New York—All eyes will be on Rio de Janeiro when the Brazilian city hosts the 2016 Summer Olympic Games, but the city’s style and fashion influence is a constant. It’s that colorful influence –along with its world famous Carnival festival–that are part of a digital competition being sponsored by Swarovski and 52Grams, the mobile-friendly platform that permits fashion and luxury brands to curate shoppable look books based upon user-generated Instagram images.
For the contest, which began today at noon and continues through midnight March 24, Swarovski is asking users to demonstrate their best Rio passion for style and fashion by submitting Instagram images with the hashtag “SwarovskiRio.”
The images will be curated into a Swarovski-branded look book on 52Grams: www.52grams.com/participate/swarovski. A panel of fashion and style bloggers, including Kelly Saks of http://www.kellysklosetblog.com/, will select three winners who will each receive a $500 Swarovski gift card. Additionally, to further promote its latest collection, Swarovski will host Carnival-inspired in-store events at more than 200 boutiques nationwide on Friday, March 22, from 6 to 8 p.m.
