New York—While there may not be any Fashion’s Night Out festivities planned this year in New York, that hasn’t stopped the Meatpacking District Improvement Association (MPIA) along with designers Diana von Furstenberg and Andrew Rosen from putting together a party tonight that mixes fashion, food, drink and music.
Called Open Market, it’s the inaugural fundraising event for the trendy Meatpacking District. From 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. (or later) the district plays host to an evening highlighting the hottest shops and restaurants, special samples sales from leading designers, a silent auction, designer giveaways, gourmet food and drink all done to the beat of live DJs soundtracks.
Brands that plan sample sales include Alice + Olivia, DVF, Gabriella New York, Helmut Lang, HONOR, INTERMIX, Jay Godfrey, Joie, Lilla P, Theory, Tory Burch, and Trina Turk. Other brands such as La Perla, Rag & Bone, Christian Louboutin, Ted Baker, and AllSaints will also be selling their collections.
Participating restaurants that will be providing food and beverages include Del Posto, Spice Market, Macelleria, Standard Biergarten and Pastis.
While shopping and eating, attendees will be entertained by the New York City based DJ trio, Misshapes, will be performing live, along with Nancy (LCD Soundsystem/DFA) and JD Samson (Le Tigre/MEN).
VIP tickets are $350 and include an exclusive gift bag worth $600 and first access to the best of the shopping and auction. General Admission tickets are $150.
Proceeds benefit the MDIA which has been responsible for raising funds for public spaces in the neighborhood including the Highline Park and other public spaces.
