Fashion Editor’s Blog: Sporty Chic

Isabel Marant Unbeknownst to me, my husband signed me up for an Equinox sports club membership. Perhaps he thought I needed a bit of a push to get my New Year’s resolution jump started? I’m glad he did, but as soon as my membership was officially activated I found myself in a sheer state of panic as I came to the realization that I lack major gym swagger.

I found myself tearing through a closet overflowing with stilettos,  just to locate (and dust off) my barely worn sneaks. After a sudden fashion epiphany, I came to realize that perhaps the reason for my gym absence wasn’t due to laziness but rather a lack of a cute workout wardrobe?

Ok, lame excuse…but I did realize that I’m in luck these days with all of the sporty-chic ensembles that have made their way into fashion as of late (thank you Stella McCartney, Alexander Wang…). So for those of you lacking motivation like me, perhaps you too just need a simple wardrobe fix to get yourself to the gym.

Here we go:

Treat those feet to some much needed comfort (without sacrificing style) with BE&D’s stiletto kicks.

Carry your gym essentials in style with Hussein Chalayan for PUMA’s hooded backpack, yup, there’s a hood attached. Carry your gym essentials in style with Hussein Chalayan for PUMA’s hooded backpack, yup, there’s a hood attached.

And of course if you’re not already inspired enough to hit the gym, maybe this Chanel tennis racket will do the trick.
