Fashion Editor’s Blog: Prima Ballerina

Spring 2013 Christian Siriano runway, where models gracefully floated down the catwalk in pretty pastel designs

Although the holidays are often the most wallet slimming, waistline filling, stress induced time of the year… it’s a bit disappointing when they come to an extreme halt. Which is exactly why I’m reflecting back to one of the highlights of my holiday break: attending the Nutcracker at Lincoln Center.

That’s me at Lincoln Center! Xo

Anyone who knows anything about it me is well is aware of my love for the ballet and all of the prima ballerina fashions that follow. I practically squealed when the top knot buns came into fashion a few seasons back…and don’t even get my started on Rodarte’s costumes for “Black Swan” (yes I actually dressed as Black Swan for Halloween!)

Since I’m on this ballet kick–and am so inspired that I am taking ballet lessons again– I thought I’d share of few of my favorite feminine designs from the Spring 2013 collections.

Now, let’s talk accessories. There were plenty of pale hues, ladylike bow trims and ruffle designs, but here are a few of my favorites.

Although my point shoes have been long retired, thanks to Jill Stuart, I’ll be wrapping my ankles in ballerina style this Spring.

Pink and ballet go hand in hand, right? Which must be why these rose gold stunners by CA&LOU’s make for the perfect delicate earring.

What kind of a girlie girl, is one without a pearl?

(A Chanel pearl to be exact)

And to top off this pretty ballerina’s feminine look?  Charlotte Olympia’s flirty faux perfume minaudiere design.
