Mary Katrantzou Receives a Nom for BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund

Mary Katrantzou collaboration for Topshop, 2012

London–British designer and Princess of Prints Mary Katrantzou can certainly take lots of credit for the massive print trend that has swept fashion. From digital florals (Spring 2012 collection) to foreign stamps and currency (Spring 2013), her realistic photo images have been nothing short of a phenomenon. Just ask the folks at Topshop who watched her dress collaboration (shown at left) fly out the door.

Katrantzou is just one of the designers nominated by the British Fashion Council for the 2013 BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund. Others include Roksanda Ilincic, Nicholas Kirkwood, Peter Pilotto and Emilia Wickstead.

Winners will be announced on January 29, 2013.

Only around for four years, the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund—the American equivalent of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund—has already awarded talent like Erdem and Christopher Kane.
