New York–Delta Galil Industries, a global manufacturer and marketer of branded and private label apparel products for men, women and children, reported Monday that it had agreed to acquire the trademarks of LittleMissMatched for an undisclosed sum.
Begun in 2003 as a line of non-matching socks sold in odd numbers, LittleMissMatched evolved into a lifestyle brand whose mission is to enable “girls of all ages to express their individuality and creativity.”
The privately-held brand’s assortment now encompasses apparel, primarily socks, as well as accessories, bedding, home décor, furniture and cosmetics. LittleMissMatched products are sold through its retail stores and online at its website, via wholesale channels in the United States and internationally, and through an extensive network of licensees.
LittleMissMatched has its own chain of 13 stores nationwide, including a flagship on New York’s Fifth Avenue, and a store in Tokyo and in Chile.
To Expand into Apparel and Other Categories
“LittleMissMatched is one of the most innovative kids brands in the industry and a great addition to our growing branded portfolio,” said Isaac Dabah, Delta Galil’s chief executive. “It is a perfect complement to our existing branded sock business and further strengthens our leadership position in kids intimates. We see significant synergies and opportunities to build on the solid foundation of the business and will be investing in the development, expansion and marketing of the brand to grow the concept further into apparel and other categories.”
Delta Galil already holds a license with LittleMissMatched for girl’s girls’ loungewear, sleepwear and intimates to mid-tier, clubs and specialty retail distribution.

Delta Galil, which recently began producing LittleMissMatched socks on a limited scale, will assume all sock production after the close of the deal.
As part of the acquisition, the senior management team of LittleMissMatched will join Delta Galil USA.
The deal marks Delta Galil’s third purchase this year. In July, Delta Galil bought German lingerie company Schiesser AG for $85 million. In June, it acquired the assets and label of Karen Neuburger KN for $4 million. www.deltagalil.com.
