Target Partners with Sam & Libby for Exclusive Relaunch

Minneapolis—Another day, another Target partnership.

The latest designers to team up with retail king of designer collaborations is Sam and Libby Edelman, who will be teaming up with Target for the Sam & Libby for Target line.

While the Sam & Libby footwear brand is currently in stores, it will be pulled out come February 2013 and relaunched exclusively for Target.

The Sam & Libby for Target will hit stores on May 5, 2013, with an expanded assortment on Target.com. The line features 20 styles of contemporary women’s footwear. Starting at $24.99, the line will range from sandals and flats to patterned wedges and pumps. The collection will update with fresh styles each season.

“Working with Target is a way for us to elevate the Sam & Libby brand; one that’s near and dear to our hearts,” says Sam Edelman, founder of Sam Edelman Shoe and division president of Brown Shoe Company. “Along with my wife Libby, we look forward to watching the brand evolve and are thrilled that our designs will reach an even wider audience.”

The Sam & Libby footwear brand first launched in 1987. In August 2012, Brown Shoe Company acquired it from The Jones Group. In May 2013, the brand will re-launch exclusively at Target, featuring “elevated design details and celebrating contemporary fashion with an everyday appeal.”

“Sam and Libby are pioneers in the footwear industry, and this partnership delivers the designer fashion and affordable prices our guests love finding at Target,” said Trish Adams, senior vice president of apparel and accessories, Target. “The attention to detail reflected in each style is incredible, and we look forward to adding Sam & Libby for Target to our roster of exclusive brands.”
