Item of the Day

With Halloween on October 31 and Mexican holiday Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) on November 1, there’s still time to get the right accessory to honor the spirit world.

This year, Swatch celebrates this spirit of the dead with a special watch honoring the (festive) Mexican holiday “Día de los Muertos.” Dating back to pre-colonial times, this annual festival brings ancient beliefs and customs to life. After all, this is when souls of the dead return to visit their loved ones and the spirit and physical worlds mix and mingle. Friends and families light fireworks, don bright costumes and cook traditional foods (including pan de muertos and skulls made of candy).

Honoring that festive spirit, the watch’s skulls are accented in bold reds, purples, pinks, blues, purples and greens. The images are scattered across the black silicone straps of the watch, mocking death and celebrating the joys of life.

The watch also comes in a special Swatch sleeve also decorated with accented white skulls to match.
