Smithfield, RI–Foster Grant is going mobile with parent company and leading eyewear designer and marketer FGX International with its new, free Foster Grant Pocket Mirror application available for iPhone.
The app uses the front-facing camera feature on the new Apple iPhone4 to act like a “mirror” allowing wearers of the iconic brand to check out how they look behind their Foster Grants, whether it be at home or in the stores.
Visual effects like black and white, sepia, or framing can be applied to the pictures before they are stored, shared, or uploaded to the Foster Grant Facebook page and linked to FosterGrant.com, which allows other Foster Grant fans to post comments and “Like” your photo.
“Entering the mobile platform will help extend our growing social media campaign, and reinforce the message of ‘Who’s behind those Foster Grants?’ We are very excited that our consumers can now experience the brand in different, interactive ways,” says Sal Siano, Foster Grant marketing director.
The current Facebook page already features “Shades of You,” an interactive style guide that allows followers to experience the different looks by trying sunglasses on models. With its wide variety of styles and colors to choose from, Foster Grant begs the question, “What’s not to ‘Like?'”
