Sea Girt, NJ–The Sak Brand Group (TSBG) has hit the Jersey Shore. The lifestyle accessories company recently opened its first retail store in Sea Girt, New Jersey, the hometown of a the company’s CEO and co-founder Mark Talucci.
The 2,600-square-foot retail store is home to all three of the Group’s lifestyle accessories brands– The Sak, Sakroots and Elliott Lucca–allowing shoppers the ability to browse complete collections of bags, footwear, fashion accessories, tech items and travel accessories. TSBG catalogue of brands are currently sold in more than 6,000 department and specialty stores across the country, but the brand wanted to open a retail space that was a one-stop shopping destination to all three brands in a single environment.
“Five years ago my family moved from San Francisco, where The Sak was started 23 years ago, to Sea Girt. Ever since, we have had the dream of opening a retail store here. It’s home to my immediate family and it’s not too far from our NYC corporate office, which I call my extended family,” said Talucci. The Sak Brand Group remains owned and operated by the original founders Mark Talucci and Todd Elliott.
The store features a replica of the hand-painted “Peace Print” graffiti mural that is featured in NYC showroom. The mural features the trademarked sakroots bird and peace bubble as well as painted bubbles with messages of “nature,” “listen,”“share” and “Sea Girt,” paying homage to the community. The store design inspiration is minimalistic, allowing the product take center stage, achieving the same feeling that retailers have when they walk into the NYC showroom.
The Sea Girt community has also joined in on the excitement and hosted an event on July 7 at Sea Girt Square to celebrate the opening of The Sak and other retailers. TSBG has also partnered with The Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties as a permanent drop-off location for non-perishable foods.
