That’s the way Aéropostale, the mall-based specialty retailer for young women and men, broke the news to its 7.5 million Facebook fans today as Chloë Grace Moretz was announced the retailer’s celebrity brand ambassador.
Moretz–for those of you who don’t know the 15-year-old–is an actress who’s appeared in films such as “Dark Shadows,” “Hugo” and “Amityville Horror,” and is already known for her red carpet fashion savvy.
Starting this month, Moretz will be the face of Aéropostale’s back to school campaign and will continue appearing as a brand ambassador through Spring 2013.
“We’re introducing exciting new fashion and Chloe is the perfect role model to showcase these great looks,” says Scott Birnbaum, senior vice president of marketing and e-commerce at Aéropostale. “She has amazing style and has quickly become a fashion icon for today’s teens.”
The back-to-school collection will be available in all stores beginning July 16. The campaign featuring Moretz was shot by renowned photographers, Rocco Laspata and Charles Decaro. In-store displays, as well as extensive print, online and outdoor advertising will highlight Aéropostale’s new partnership with the young actress and feature a variety of looks.
“I have always been a huge fan of Aeropostale,” says Moretz. “Their looks are fun and easy to wear, making it the perfect brand for my on-the-go lifestyle. Fashion is a huge part of my life, which is why I chose to partner with the brand. I am so excited to join the Aeropostale team.”
Aeropostale will feature “Chloe’s Favorites,” a curated collection featuring her personally styled looks and favorite must-have items for each season, available both in-store and online.
